My first website build

Coding a website from scratch

I've wanted to learn front-end web development for a couple of years but have been too daunted by it.

Though I'm used to working with web development teams, I don't know much about the 'nuts and bolts' of it.

I've decided to go back to the very beginning. I'm watching a YouTube playlist called Introduction to Web Development. The videos come from a channel called Web Dev Simplified, which looks awesome.

I posted small updates for 14(ish) days, while I followed along with the videos.

Day 0

An introduction to the web

Day 1

I start building a basic HTML About page

Day 2

I learn a few more HTML tags to build the Homepage

Day 3

I learn more about <div> tags and build the Shop in HTML

Day 4

I finish the Shop page in HTML and add my first input

Day 5

An introduction to CSS

Day 6

I start using CSS to style my About page

Day 7

I finish my About page styling in CSS - and feel very satisfied

Day 8

I start styling the homepage header buttons

Day 9

I finish styling the homepage by adding a gig table

Day 10

I start styling the shop page - the trickiest CSS yet

Day 11

I finish styling my shop page (and the whole site!)

Day 12

I start learning Javascript. I feel daunted but confident

Day 13

I finish making my cart work

Day 14

I finish my shop and my site :)
